The Innovative Educator website was created by the School Performance Studies department of The Fraser Institute. In this department, we seek to help teachers and administrators improve education in Canada.

Garfield Weston Awards for Excellence in Education
We also work towards improving education by recognizing achievement at the annual Garfield Weston Awards for Excellence in Education. These awards celebrate the successes of outstanding school teams in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec.

School Report Cards
One of the ways we work towards improving education in Canada is through our School Report Cards project. Every year, we publish report cards that rate the performance of elementary and secondary schools in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec.

These ratings help teachers and administrators compare results for their school with those of other schools whose students share similar traits. Seeing what other schools have accomplished can help each school’s ongoing improvement efforts.
